JUNIOR PRIZE DISTRIBUTION AT AKSHAR

Akshar hosted its second online Junior Prize Distribution for the academic year 2020-2021 on 17th July. Students of Class 1-6 performed in the programme comprising a play, dance, sitar recital and songs .Each item echoed and reverberated the central theme of the year of Akshar which is hopes and dreams. Prizes were announced from Classes LKG to - V . Children received prizes for academic achievements as well as various categories like - Online Conduct, IT Wizard, Online Assistance..to name a few.

The programme began with Ganesh Vandana and a sitar recital in Raag Bihag by Hridan Ghosh of Class 3.The play- Birpurush was based on the famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore. It weaved together Tagore's timeless saga of fantasy and adventure with the some astounding heroic feats seen during these difficult times. It was a tribute to the tireless corona warriors. An inspiring and elevating song named 'The Show Must Go On' was sung by the children followed by a dance performance in PPE kits named 'Corona Warriors take a break' .

Parents, students, teachers , distinguished guests, members of the managing committee, Principal Kavneet Khullar Ma'am and our Executive Director Neena Singh Ma'am were present. Chief Guest- Maya Menon, Founder Director of The Teacher Foundation graced the evening . She applauded the children, teachers, parents, the beautiful performances and quoted her favourite line, "Music is what feelings sound like". She added, " Akshar is what learning should be like."

The programme concluded with the Song of Hope inspired by Tagore's Boro Asha Kore, which brought out the essence of what Mrs Kavneet Khullar, Principal of Akshar emphasized in her speech, "Let's embark on a year which brims with dreams and hopes...Where there is no hope dreams perish.."
