The Principal’s room—the focus of the school—reflects the spirit of Akshar. The door of the office is never closed—in fact no student, visitor or member of the staff is told that “The Principal is too busy”, “cannot see you”, “come back with an appointment”. When one is in the office talking to her, a cheery “Good morning Ma’am” or “namaste Aunty”, or a curious little junior wandering in unannounced is not uncommon! The open doors and a window are encouraging to a nervous child or a new parent—the bright room is neither intimidating nor “off limits”…
